    Glasgow Scientific Services is looking to recruit a highly motivated team player with a flair for development within the areas of food, agriculture and water chemistry. You will join the laboratories management team and contribute to shaping the future direction of the laboratory. The role requires an individual with an attention to detail and a flexible management style that can tailor their approach to bring out the best within their team. You will be required to offer support and advise our extensive client base ensuring that their various needs are met as well as explore new markets for development. You will be responsible for the development and management of the food, water and microbiology sections of the laboratory in conjunction with the sectional team leaders. You will also take the lead in developing and maintaining the LIMs system.

    Glasgow Scientific Services are seeking a highly motivated individual capable of working independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate should have an analytical chemistry background with experience in chromatography. There will be a requirement to be on a rota to support the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dealing with chemical incidents. A HNC or equivalent in chemistry or a related science and current driving licence are essential and a BSc degree is desirable.

  • Team Leader - Glasgow Scientific Services

    Glasgow Scientific Services

    Glasgow Scientific Services are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead a team within the chemistry area of the lab. The successful candidate should have an extensive knowledge of analytical chemistry, preferably within food chemistry, however, should be prepared to work within other areas of the lab as required. The Team Leader will require to provide training and continuing professional development for staff and ensure the smooth running of the food section, to organise and progress work as required. You will be responsible for the Health and Safety with this area and required to maintain and develop the quality system. An Honours Degree in Chemistry or equivalent degree or Charted Chemist status (CChem) with a substantial level of analytical chemistry and current driving licence are essential. MChemA is desirable however, there is an expectation you will work towards attaining this.
